Our Attorney, Mallory Mangold, is sponsoring the Hammerin’ For Habitat 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, February 22, 2014.

Mallory says, “I am learning more and more about Habitat.  They don’t just give away homes to needy families. The families have to go through a rigorous screening process to qualify.  If the family qualifies, they are given a home with a much “lower and manageable” mortgage so that they have some responsibility in the deal as well.  Habitat also provides resources and support for financial planning, budgeting, etc. to ensure that they do not fall back into the system.  The ultimate goal is for the family to become stable enough to purchase their own home and rent out the Habitat home.”

Please come out and support Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, February 22, 2014 if you do not already have plans.  It is supposed to beautiful weather and should be a fun day.

The Hammerin’ for Habitat 5K Fun Run and Walk is an event aimed to raise

awareness about the work and mission of Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama.

Location: The University of South Alabama’s SGA Pavilion right off of Old Shell Rd. at Hillcrest Rd., directly behind The Grove Apartments.

Time: Check-in begin at 7:00 a.m.

Run begins at 8:00 a.m.

Registration: Pre-register by mail to HFHSWA 5K Run/Walk; P.O. Box 16422;

Mobile, AL 36616. Entries should be postmarked by February 15th.

Registration can be made in person at Run-N-Tri – Mobile and McCoy Outdoors until 12:00 p.m. February 21st or online at active.com.

Entry Fees:

T-Shirts: Participants registered by February 8, 2014 will be guaranteed a

tee shirt in the size requested at registration.

Award: Awards will be given to the top male, female, boy and girl participants.
